La Belle Vie
Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN

Minneapolis’s top dining experience is located at the back of a smart apartment building that dates from 1927. Tim McKee's delicate, French-inspired cuisine includes creations like a starter of poached lobster with goat cheese agnolotti, harissa and hen of the woods mushrooms, as well as mains like a grilled lamb rib eye with eggplant, cauliflower and anchovies. Multiple reviewers say, "It's my favorite high-end dining spot in town," and the dining room is always filled with people celebrating birthdays, engagements, anniversaries and other special occasions - or even those capping off a day visiting the Walker Art Museum across the street. The "beautiful, formal atmosphere" is enhanced by "impeccable service," and while some described the experience as "pricy," the consensus was that "the delicious and beautiful-looking food" was worth it.
