If you're looking to eat luxurious ingredients - say, truffles in season or a half dozen types of caviar or Wagyu beef prepared by a chef with good French chops after you ride that last wave of the day on Waikiki, George Mavrothalassitis' restaurant is the place for you. Every reviewer gave it a rating of Recommended or higher. The experience was described as "food executed to perfection . . . everything is fresh and local whenever possible," and one reviewer said, "Chef Mavro understands what makes Franco-Hawaiian haute fusion fare tick." The only real criticism focused on the "the limited food and wine choices" (the menu is arranged in three-, four- and six-course prix fixes). Diners are "strongly encouraged to select the wine pairings that have been selected for each menu." |
