What makes La Casita different from the hundreds of other Mexican restaurants in the Los Angeles area are its chefs/owners, Ramiro Arvizu and Jaime Martin Del Campo. The duo are so dedicated to doing things right, the only way they could make the restaurant more authentic would be to move it to Mexico. The dishes are prepared with painstaking care, and Mexican food aficionados will easily be able to tell the difference between the Americanized version of Mexican fare they usually eat and food that is prepared correctly. One downside is the location in the lonely Los Angeles suburb of Bell; the word schlep is not normally used when discussing a Mexican restaurant, but it seems apropos in this case.
