Jody Adams made her mark serving Mediterranean cuisine. But after buying out her partners in 2007, she changed Rialto's format, and the focus is now on Italian regional cuisine, featuring the cooking from a different region each month. Recently, for example, her menu featured dishes from the Abruzzi/Mollise area: starters like a Maine lobster salad with avocado, fennel and vin santo, string pasta with fresh squid, capers, garlic and shaved bottarga, and slow-roasted duck with escarole, roasted fingerlings and Sicilian olives. While the restaurant has been around since 1994, "food that is subtle yet complex and flavorful," "a decent wine list" and "a handsome space" mean it's still "a top choice on the Cambridge side of the Charles River." |
