When Tom Powers' restaurant was located in a Sheraton Hotel, it was the darling of the local foodie community. But now that it's moved into a town house near the city's convention center, people don't seem to be talking about it as much. It's odd, as Powers' cooking hasn't changed, and dishes like a bisque of blue snapper, carpaccio of lobster with drawn butter, and pork cheeks and tarbais beans prepared osso buco style, are as delicious as they were at the old location. It's even more puzzling in light of recent comments that claim, "The new location is simply beautiful, the food is still exemplary, albeit more expensive and the service exquisite. Mr. Powers' restaurant continues to excel." |
