Though it does a good job of masquerading as a pizza joint that is over-populated with Brooklyn hipsters who seem oblivious to the ear-shattering music, serious foodies know that it is worth travelling to Bushwick to sample the special tasting menu that Carlo Mirachi offers on Mondays through Thursday evenings. With only one table for four people set aside, Carlo sends out a progression of dishes that one reviewer described as, “creative hedonism.” The menu typically includes granita topped oysters, vegetables topped with fresh salsas, as well as pastas like agnolotti stuffed with taleggio and nasturtium. But Carlo is at his best is when he is dry-aging meats and poultry, and he typically finishes the meal with mouth watering servings of dry-aged roast duck and Wagyu beef.
