There was a time when this showcase for chef Michael Schlow was considered the best contemporary restaurant in Boston. But after its management team opened Via Matta and the now-shuttered Great Bay, Radius slipped to the second tier. But reviewers are saying that "Schlow is back on track" now that he has bought out his partners. That he has been successful at it this quickly isn't all that surprising - even during the down times we would still collect the occasional comment lauding dishes like crunchy sweetbreads, beluga lentils, bacon, pear purée and walnuts or herb-basted chicken with molten potato cake, brussels sprouts and black truffle jus. You can also enjoy one of the city's best burgers, which is only available at lunch.
