Opened in 2012 by Top Chef participant Jeff McInnis, Yardbird soon became one of the most popular restaurants on Miami Beach. While the menu lists all the classics – from chicken ’n’ biscuits to shrimp and grits to sweet tea-brined BBQ ribs – the cuisine really shines when McIniss takes a traditional Southern dish and adds an element that gives it a twist, like his fried green tomato BLT, which he serves with Heritage Acres Farm pork belly and tomato jam or what he calls Duck, Duck, Duck, slow-braised pulled duck tossed with fresh hand-cut pasta and served with barbeque duck meat balls, a poached Lake Meadows duck egg and pickled pumpkin. |
