Of all the places one would expect to find French brasserie cuisine that is "as delicious as it is correct," we doubt anyone would guess St. Paul, Minnesota. If you don't believe us, take a look at this comment: "Man, these people understand French cooking. The onion soup was rich, sweet, well-made. The beet salad was simple but well-balanced. And an order of short ribs was rich but not too heavy." There's an oyster bar, and in a nod to chef Russell Klein's heritage, they also offer Jewish soul food classics like matzoh ball soup. It adds up to "a true feel and taste of Paris in the heart of this Midwestern city." |
