Few cuisines have made as little of an impact on the American dining cuisine as Portuguese. That was until the husband and wife team of David Gilberg and Carla Gonçalves, decided to open this restaurant in the Northern Liberties area of Philadelphia. Now there is finally a place where you can get versions of traditional Portuguese dishes like potato and salt cod fritters, a fricasée of octopus and feijoada à transmontana; a long-cooked stew of pork parts and beans. Reviewers say, “They really seem to understand the soul of Portuguese cooking” calling it, “A genuinely fun and delicious meal.”
