One reviewer told the following story: "One Saturday evening a few years back, we asked the maitre d' how long it would take to get a table. He told us to go out and catch a movie and our table would be ready when we got back." That sums up the length of the wait at this iconic restaurant, where the Florida stone crab claws come three to five per order depending on their size (regulars are quick to order the jumbos when they're available). There's a host of classic side dishes, like garlic creamed spinach, Lyonnaise potatoes and cottage-fried sweet potatoes. Joe's is famous for offering priority seating to regulars, or to those who were gracious enough to "thank" the maitre d' on their last visit. Fortunately, anyone can avoid the brutal lines by going for lunch. |
