Although you rarely hear foodies talking about it, you never see empty tables at Jeremy and Jennifer Marshall's narrow SoHo dining room. What draws the crowds is the exquisite fish and shellfish, which includes "the best selection of oysters in the city," along with entrées like Jeremy's signature falafel-crusted salmon with hummus and preserved lemons and a bouillabaisse described a "easily the best version I've had outside of the South of France." There are also seasonal specialties, like stone crab claws or shad roe or pink shrimp from Maine. If the preparations are a bit too fussy for your taste, you can always order any fish simply grilled or pan-sautéed. Working against the restaurant is a wine list that doesn't match up to the terrific cuisine, compounded by the no-BYOB policy. |
