The ongoing debate that revolves around this slice of New England in Greenwich Village is over who makes the best lobster roll - Mary's Fish Camp or its rival, Pearl Oyster Bar (run by a former partner of Mary's, both in life and in lobsters). Judging by its higher rating, reviewers give the edge to Mary's, which also serves steamers, fried clams, broiled fish and other seafood far. But the most unique thing on the menu is a bowl of lobster knuckles, which, despite the hassle in cracking them open, yield a good amount of sweet meat. Just as in Maine, the best way to end your meal is with ice cream - the hot fudge sundae is especially terrific.
