After making her name in the Berkshires at the Old Chatham Sheepherding Company Inn, Melissa Kelly and partner Price Kushner decided to move to Maine. Set in a late-19th-century Victorian house, the restaurant features numerous dishes made with produce raised on its own farm, like pot-bellied ravioli stuffed with herbs, kale, pancetta and ricotta, and items that are locally sourced, like grilled pumpkin swordfish served in a San Marzano tomato sauce. Even the charcuterie comes from pigs raised a short walk from the kitchen. The place is "surprisingly well-staffed" with "professional servers" who have worked there for years, something that is unusual for a restaurant in a resort community. We suggest you arrive early so you can "tour the farm before your meal."
