With the opening of this restaurant, Daniel Boulud has successfully expanded his brand in a way that appeals to a younger clientele. While some might like it for the people-watching, it's the numerous varieties of sausages, from Thai to Tunisian to a classic boudin noir, and burgers that come with toppings ranging from traditional to exotic, that makes this East Village spot tick. And the bistro dishes, like roasted bone marrow or a simple steak frites, aren't bad either. Unfortunately, the "ambience is horrid," with a noise level that is "excruciating even when it's at its lowest level." |
