From the perspective of the physical plant, there might be no other restaurant in the country that more closely resembles the gastropubs you find all over the U.K. than Sitka & Spruce. "Cozy" is the best way to describe this place, set inside the Melrose Market and with most seating at a large, wooden communal table. Chef/owner Matt Dillon's menu - dishes like chicken liver paté with chanterelles and huckleberries, clams with celery root and horseradish and charcoal-grilled chicken with chickpeas, yogurt and harissa - ensures you have not just a pub but a gastropub experience. |
