Los Angeles denizens who are in the mood for a San Francisco-style Cal-Ital experience, know to visit Steve Samson and Zach Pollack’s restaurant located on the edge of Beverly Hills. The duo offer small plates like tomato braised octopus with chickpeas, preserved lemon, chard and bottarga and pastas such as a chicken liver ragu with maitake mushrooms and podda, and a Devil’s Gulch fennel crusted pork porterhouse that they serve with a Sicilian salad.
