This more casual little sister to Chez Panisse is beloved by our reviewers. It’s a celebration of what is best that day; a typical menu might include a pizzetta with tomato sauce and sardines from Monterey Bay Watson Ranch lamb shoulder with crème fraîche and chervil; and a bowl of Churchill Orchard Kishu tangerines. Comments included “masterful cooking,” “a wonderful wine list,” and, “I can still remember the details of the many meals I had there.” There were also a handful of comments from people who claim they prefer it to eating in the main dining room downstairs.
