RESTAURANT REVIEW
Danny Bowein's restaurant has been a sensation since the day it opened. You will probably wait in a long line in order to sample dishes like Grandma's Spicy Lamb Dumplings, tea-smoked eel, Kung Pao pastrami, thrice-cooked bacon with rice cakes and General Tso's veal rib. And don't forget sides like schmaltz rice or Mongolian long beans with horseradish. The location - Bowein took over the old Lung Shan restaurant in San Francisco's Mission District and didn't change a single thing - means you get to eat the cool food in an old-school Chinese restaurant environment.
