With a resume that included running the kitchen for José Andrés at Zaytinya to appearing on season six of Top Chef, New Jersey native Mike Isabella went back to his personal roots and opened this Italian restaurant in Washington D.C.’s Chinatown neighborhood. Like other chefs who blend the local table and trattoria cooking, Isabella mixes things up with dishes like crostini topped with sea urchin, cucumber and lardo, heirloom potato soup with vadouvan cream and chives, ten different types of pizza from a wood-burning oven and ricotta cavatelli with lamb ragu, chili, feta, mint and pistachio.
