Words fail to describe Crown Candy Kitchen. Opened in 1913 by two friends from Greece, it remains a mint-condition version of a corner candy store of that era. The menu is standard luncheonette fare: grilled cheese, burgers and sandwiches like the Heart-Stopping BLT (one reviewer swore there must be a pound of bacon on it), along with "awesome shakes" and an assortment of sundaes. The one major downside is the "excruciatingly long line of people" waiting for a booth at this "throwback to an era when calories didn't count."
