Back in 1924, Anthony "Totonno" Pero, known as one of the best "pizziaolos" in the city, installed a coal-burning brick oven at his Coney Island shop. He made pies until he ran out of dough, and if you happened to be waiting on line at the time - tough luck to you. Like his beloved Dodgers, Totonno is no longer with us. But his family is still sliding pies into his oven, and people are still lining up.
