Although the similarly named Original Pancake House chain (see above) gets a slightly higher rating, many reviewers tell us that this is where local families in the know come to devour "one of the best traditional breakfasts in the U.S.," feasting on large plates of pancake specialties like Dutch Baby Apple, German and the Danish Garden, all of which are doing their best to impersonate a soufflé. They also have more classically styled pancakes, including a number filled with fruit or nuts, as well as nine different oven-baked omelets, Belgian waffles, French toast, crepes, salads and sandwiches.
