Ever since food writer Jonathan Gold declared that the pastrami at Langer's was superior to the pastrami at Katz's in New York City, a controversy has hovered over this restaurant. Truth is, we never heard anyone who wasn't a resident of Los Angeles make that claim. Friendly competition aside, this is "the best pastrami in town," served in a classic Jewish deli atmosphere.
